Weather in Spain

Any time of year is perfect for a holiday in Spain. But if you wanted to narrow it down to the perfect months, then the best time to visit Spain are the months of May, June and September. If you are travelling to the southern part of Spain, then either April or October would be ideal. This way, you will avoid the hot summer months of July and August. Basically, the best time to visit Spain is during spring or autumn. The Atlantic coast, however, gets a lot of rain during October and November.

All of Spain experiences summer in the months of July and August. The other months are temperate in the north, but the south can still be warm. The months of April, May and October have good weather in Spain and are also less crowded; it is only during August that the busy tourist season commences. The high central areas and the city of Madrid, which is situated on a plateau, can get very cold during winter.

Spain has the advantage of being an ideal holiday destination largely due to the fact that it has the warmest weather in Europe. The southern and eastern coasts of Spain have a typical Mediterranean climate with and hot and dry summers and a mild summer. The weather in the Atlantic Coast is quite different, with cool summers and wet winters.
